Italian Renaissance Architect, Leon Battista Alberti was a native to Genoa<\/st1:City>, Italy<\/st1:country-region><\/st1:place>.  <\/span>He was born in 1406.  <\/span>He began his artistic studies in Padua<\/st1:City> and Bolonia, but the most important period of his education was done in Rome<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.  <\/span>In 1432, he started to work in the office of an apostolic abbreviator.  <\/span>He studied the finite components of classic architecture—design, proportion, decorations, and projecting.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He met fellow architects, Brunelleschi, Donatello, Mosaccio in Florence<\/st1:City> Italy<\/st1:country-region><\/st1:place> in 1434.  <\/span>Following this association, he wrote the treatise “Della pittura (1435).  <\/span>In this work, Alberti collected and studied architectural works by Brunelleschi.  <\/span>He outlined the theories of Florentine art at the beginning of the 15th<\/sup> century.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Supported by the Italian family, Rucellai, Alberti left a profound legacy of work.  <\/span>The Palazzo Ruccellai (1447-1451) was done in a style which emulated the homes of the nobility in Florence<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.  <\/span>His other works, Il Tempietto de San Sepolcro in Cappella Rucellai and the church<\/st1:PlaceType> of San Pancrazio<\/st1:PlaceName><\/st1:place> were great architectural achievements.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Alberti was the symbol of the ideal artist of the Italian Renaissance.  <\/span>He created a cornerstone for future artists in the fields of painting, sculpture, literature and philosophy and architecture.\"Ads<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
