It is a trend that is good for your health, good for the environment and good for your wallet.
With the popularity of local produce many local farms or those that use local produce are opening up farm to table restaurants or sustainable restaurants on site at a local farm. The produce is brought directly from the farm to the table.
A great business to have and one that thrives in this economy. As a food business consultant this is my favorite type of restaurant to work with. These types of restaurants remind me of the popular family owned restaurants in Italy from long ago and now coming back into fashion there as people all over the world are realizing the benefit of locally grown food.
The food is very important for this type of venture but almost just as important is the professional cookware it is cooked on. To get the best results when cooking use high quality cookware. Think of your cookware as the your instrument much like the world’s best musicians insist on using the best instruments- you can’t produce a great meal without professional tools.
Then, besides the farm or local venue that grows the produce- restaurant supplies and knowing what ones to buy are equally as important. Supplies specifically for restaurants can make a restaurant owner’s job easier.
Food Service Supplies help to make the food service business owner run their operation smoothly.
The farm to table idea is a great way to support local farmers. Sustainable restaurants are about being self sustaining. In other words they use the produce that is produced there at the restaurant-great for the environment because no fuel has to be used to get the produce to the table. No carbon footprint is left and less pollution to get your food to the table. You are also promoting local economy that way. It is a greener dining experience all the way around.
Mangia Bene, Vivi Bene,
Maria

The Slow Food trend is spreading and whether it is due to the economy or people just getting back to a ‘back to basics approach’ -it doesn’t matter.
