Carnevale\u00a0 and\u00a0 Mardi Gras \u2026.<br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.carnevale-venezia.net\/images\/carnevale-venezia%2520%281%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n(photo credit: www.carnevale-venezia.net)<br \/>\nBrilliant colors and costumes are the choice\u00a0 for many and Pizza Fritte (Fried Pizza) is the food of choice to celebrate!<br \/>\nThe French Mardi Gras Saying is \u201cLaissez les bon temps rouler\u201d which literally translates to \u201c Let the good times roll\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>Pizza Fritte<\/strong><br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gustarelitalia.it\/WP_GUS\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/montanare.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n(photo credits: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gustareitalia.it\">www.gustareitalia.it<\/a>)<br \/>\n2 lbs flour<br \/>\n1 envelope powdered yeast<br \/>\nwarm milk<br \/>\nwater<br \/>\nolive oil<br \/>\nplum tomatoes-crushed<br \/>\nfresh basil leaves<br \/>\nOil for frying<br \/>\nSift flour and yeast together in a bowl. Add in 1\/4 cup warm milk, water and a drizzle of olive oil. Add in enough water to make a smooth but not too soft dough..<br \/>\nMake one large ball with dough and let stand for 30 minutes covered with towel. Then divide dough into small little pizzas-about 3 inches in diameter. Place pizzas on a cookie sheet and cover wit ha towel to let rise.for 2 hours.<br \/>\nHeat oil in deep frying pan. Cover a large plate or cookie sheet with paper towels. When oil is boiling, fry pizzas 1 at a time till golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon. Place on paper towel.
