It\u2019s not your typical Thanksgiving day dessert but one that will make it a memorable one and this will bring Siena, Italy close to your dinner table for one day\u2026<br \/>\nAnd if you love to cook <a href=\"http:\/\/www.onlineclasses.net\">here<\/a> is a resource for finding cooking classes<br \/>\n<strong>Torta Alla Senese (Siena Style Cake) <\/strong><br \/>\n<em>excerpted from <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marialiberati.com\/products-page\/bookstore-2\/2900-2\/\"><em>The Basic Art of Italian Cooking: DaVinci Style<\/em><\/a><br \/>\n<a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marialiberati.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Torta-di-riso.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"Torta-di-riso\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marialiberati.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Torta-di-riso_thumb.jpg?resize=244%2C186&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Torta-di-riso\" width=\"244\" height=\"186\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n\u00bd cup (100 gr) milk<br \/>\n1 \u00bd cups (300 gr) rice<br \/>\n1 cup (200 gr) sugar<br \/>\n3 eggs<br \/>\n1\/3 cup(70 gr) raisins<br \/>\n8 hazelnuts<br \/>\n\u00bc cup (50 gr) pinoli nuts<br \/>\n1\/3 cup (70 gr) butter<br \/>\n1 tsp baking powder<br \/>\nzest of \u00bd lemon grated<br \/>\nBoil milk. Add in uncooked rice and sugar. Cook till liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and cool. Add in eggs. raisins, hazelnuts, pinoli nuts, softened butter, baking powder, grated lemon zest. Blend all together. Butter and flour an 8\u201d cake pan, pour in batter. Bake in oven preheated to 400 F (200C) and bake for 30 minutes.
