So here&nbsp; is&nbsp; a recipe our Founding Father would have loved. It\u2019s summer, so I didn\u2019t think that you would want to labor over making <em>maccheroni<\/em> by hand, so this recipe calls for store bought spaghetti- but be sure to get 100% durum wheat pasta. makes&nbsp; a great eating \u2018al fresco\u2019 pasta dish. This is from my upcoming book The Basic Art of Pasta:<br \/>\n<em><strong>Spaghetti Primavera<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marialiberati.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/spaghetti-primavera.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-3080\" title=\"spaghetti primavera\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marialiberati.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/spaghetti-primavera-150x150.jpg?resize=150%2C150&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n1&nbsp; lb spaghetti<br \/>\n4 red, ripe tomatoes<br \/>\n1 handful freshly chopped basil<br \/>\n1 handful freshly chopped parsley<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic<br \/>\n3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil<br \/>\n4 tablespoons freshly grated parmigiana -reggiano cheese<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nCook pasta till al dente. While pasta is cooking, prepare the&nbsp; sauce.&nbsp; Chop tomatoes , basil, garlic, parsley. Drain pasta and place in serving dish. Place tomato mixture on top. Place olive oil in saute pan to heat or just until oil begins to bubble. Remove from heat. Pour over pasta and cover bowl for 1 minute.
