Festa di Ringraziamento (Happy Thanksgiving)!
Italians don’t exactly celebrate Thanksgiving — it doesn’t relate to their history. But the word “ringraziamento” means “thanksgiving” in Italian, and Italians use it to express thanks. Some of the traditional foods served during an American Thanksgiving dinner aren’t native to Italy, like cranberries and corn. However, foods like pumpkin are used in many Italian dishes: as stuffing in ravioli, cubed and sauteed in risotto, and now in Italy there’s a new pumpkin-filled pie (similar to the American version) that is just starting to make it’s way around the country.
I wish for you and your loved ones to have a wonderful, happy, and safe Thanksgiving.
Love,
Maria
