Sometimes it can take a while to figure out what food is causing you issues, however, so it can help to try a few different options. Here are a few different dietary restrictions that can be pretty common and are worth planning some meals about.

Lactose Intolerance

Many people experience lactose intolerance, and if you are eating too much lactose when your body can’t tolerate it, it can make you feel pretty awful. There is lactose in most dairy products, so it is important to find ways to avoid dairy in your cooking to protect your health. For most people lactose intolerance leads to digestive issues, but it can also lead to respiratory issues. Luckily, there are many milk alternatives that you can use so you can find a great option for any food you may want to make.

Celiac Disease

For other people, it is gluten that can cause them health issues. Some people are simply gluten intolerant, but for people with celiac disease, it is even more important to make sure you are avoiding gluten. In the past it was very difficult to find gluten alternatives, but it is easier now. There are lots of great gluten-free options for replacing wheat in meals. From pastas to breads and even cookies, you can find great gluten free choices that can help you satisfy your hunger without hurting your body.

Peanut or Tree Nut Allergies

Many people are allergic to peanut or tree nuts, and that kind of allergy can be very severe. If you suspect you might have an allergy to nuts, it is important to make sure that you aren’t eating them. These kinds of allergies can also worsen over time, so even if your allergy seems minor, it is a good idea to avoid the offending nuts. You can easily avoid nuts in recipes, and sometimes things like sesame seeds or sunflower seeds can be a good alternative.

Dealing with a dietary restriction can be a challenge because you have to make adjustments to how you eat. But if you start planning around your restrictions, you can make delicious food nonetheless. Making smart food decisions considering your restrictions can help you to have a much better experience with the food you eat.
