How to make a compost–

Get a small wire fence to enclose an area off that you will designate to be your compost area, or simply use a large container. Dump any fruit and vegetable waste in there and wait for it to rot naturally. If you are putting other food waste in, make sure you layer it with fruit and vegetable waste so it does not get slimy and turn it occasionally to speed up decomposition. Add mulch from time to time if you desire.
Reuse leftovers for an entirely new recipe
Holidays are a perfect example of having a lot of food left over and not knowing what to do with it all. Here is a recipe created especially to reuse Holiday leftovers from The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Maria Liberati tm This recipe uses turkey, zucchini and potatoes but if you have other meats and veggies leftover feel free to substitute other meats for the turkey- like chicken, beef even vegetarian meats will do. And for the veggies almost any vegetables will work, the most important thing is to make use of and not waste good food!
