Now that it is December, I really have the holidays on the brain! I love this time of year. The air becomes crisper, the smell of fireplaces burning, and giving wonderful, thoughtful things to people. Over the next three weeks, I’ll be singing praises about some of my favorite things — just like my namesake in The Sound of Music!
I am really loving the Tuscan Blend of my new spice line Sapori dItalia, and I think you will, too! My spice blends are all natural and do not contain any cereals or fillers like some brands. I only add high quality spices and flavors. I developed these blends to reflect each region of Italys specialty. This Tuscan Blend is romantic and quiet, yet bursting with the rich flavors that abound in Tuscany.
Each bag comes with six recipes chosen by me that complement the spice. To keep the spices fresh and flavorful, they are sealed in an aluminum pouch, and then gently packed in an organic, rustic muslin drawstring bag.
You can order one for yourself and one to give right on my website! The spices are usually $14.95, but right now for the holidays I’m offering them at 20% off. That’s only $9.95 per bag!
Or, if you’re the type that likes to try before you buy
For a limited time only, with each purchase of my book, The Basic Art of Italian Cooking, I will send a FREE Tuscan Blend Sapori dItalia sample while supplies last. Give a book to a friend, and order one for yourself then play around with the recipes and spices and create a dish that is uniquely yours. Because that is the basic art of Italian cooking.
Heres a quick and simple recipe to try with the Tuscan Spice Blend:
Bruschetta
*5 slices of day old crusty bread
*2 tsp of Sapori D’Italia Tuscan Blend
*3 Tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
Drizzle 1 Tbsp olive oil on cookie sheet. Place brad slices on top and drizzle 1 tbsp olive oil over bread. Sprinkle with 1 tsp Sapori D’Italia Tuscan Spice Blend. Place under broiler for 2-3 minutes or until crispy and golden. Turn over and drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil evenly over bread, then sprinkle 1 tsp of Sapori D’Italia spice blend. When golden remove from oven and serve.
If youd like, you can sprinkle shaved parmigiano-reggiano cheese on top or small chunks of fresh tomatoes on top before serving. Best served warm or fresh from oven.
I’d love to hear from you! Tell me what you think about this spice blend, or about Italy or cooking in general! E-mail me at Maria@MariaLiberati.com, or contact me through the website here.
